A Sip of Sparkling Wine in the Story, a Sparkling Story in the World of Wine…
I believe that on the hills of Oltrepò Pavese in northern Italy — a Lombard region deservedly known as the Tuscany of the North for its exceptional sparkling wines — my partner, the Ruinello family winery, led by Roberta and her son Michele, will be a worthy partner for my readers.
Together with the book, which will be published this year in Hungarian, English and Italian, we will organise “sparkling wine book launches” in different parts of the world, offering both future and loyal readers a taste of the story’s themes, the atmosphere of the novel, its settings, and these excellent sparkling wines and still wines.
This Renaissance-inspired dark romance, set in the present day, brings to life Piacenza, the area around Pavia, and, across the River Po, the beautiful vineyards and wine- and sparkling-wine country of Oltrepò Pavese.
Meanwhile, through the scenes set on Lake Iseo, we also enter the world of another famous sparkling-wine region: Franciacorta. It offers a world of flavours and experiences as different as the character, style and taste of these two regions themselves — despite being only an hour apart…
